There is an app for that....

After getting my new iPhone 4S we all had fun seeing what Siri really knew.  One conversation went like this:

Chris: "Siri, what is the meaning of life?"

Siri:  "Let me check on that." Short pause.  "I don't know but I'm sure there is an app for that."

I think she is right.  There seems to be an app for everything nowadays.

Fast forward to this week.... I'm home sick with a sick baby.  We were running out of toilet paper, coffee, cat food, cat liter, dish washer detergent, diapers... we were pretty much out of or almost out of a lot of important things around the house.  I knew we were running low on these things for about 2 weeks now.  The last thing I want to do at the end of the day is run to the store with two kids.  So I put off going to the store as long as possible.  My husband hates going to the store as much as I do. I don't blame him since he works about 10 hours a day and most Saturdays.

Sitting at home sick I thought how nice it would be if I could just online grocery shop.  I do all of my other shopping online... why not groceries too?  After some googling, I found Peapod.  Even better, there is an app. You chose your closest grocery store and it even tells you what is on sale that week. You put whatever you want in your cart and it is delivered to you the next day.  The delivery fee was $7.95, but after the first order free delivery for 60 days.  Plus, if I were to go to the store I'd end up spending a lot more than $7.95 on spontaneous buys that we didn't really need.

What I love best about it... no more on-going grocery lists.  I just get on the app, add it to my cart for when I'm ready to make my next purchase.

I may never go to the store again!! Pin It

  1. I completely understand. I live on a combination of AmazonPrime 2-day shipping and diapers.com. I also have spud.com which is a local (SF bay area) organic delivery service where we get our milk, eggs, produce. So my goal is pretty much to never leave the house with kids when there is something that needs to be done. Plus it cuts down on impulse purchases at Target:)
