Insulator Collection

I have seen these all over blog land.
I love them.  I have memories as a young child walking along the rail road tracks in Connecticut with my brother and sister hunting for insulators.  My dad is a huge collector.  Although I have some I have picked up from antique stores and flea markets, I doubt my collection will ever be this awesome.
No, this is not a picture from google. These are some pictures of my dad's collection.  This is only part of his collection, he is working on getting the shelves all lit up like these. Aren't they amazing?  I just love the purple ones and tiny red ones... and those amazing cobalt blue ones! Amazing! Even people who don't know what they are have to think they look cool all lit up like this!
I'm not really a collector of anything... but if I do ever go full force in collecting something it is going to be insulators like my dad.

    That is so cool looking! I wish I had space for a collection like that :) At the very least I think I need to get my hands on some of those purple ones! Thanks for sharing -

    Hi! I just emailed this blog to my brother...he has a huge collection of insulators also. My Uncle collects them also. They are beautiful with the lighted shelves....thanks for the post!
