For awhile I just called him Mr. Bear. My sister (Fun Aunt Nicky) insisted he have a real name as he became a part of our family. She named him Fred.
For Chloe, it was love at first sight.
An instant friendship was born.
Many kisses exchanged.
As Chloe got older, she carried him everywhere!
She spent years plucking out all of his fluffy fur and carrying him around by his neck and limbs.
Fred has even gone with Chloe to meet Santa.
Now at 7 years old, Chloe still sleeps with Fred every night.
She still snuggles with Fred on the couch every morning and evening.
He has been restuffed and sewn up many times.
I'm not sure what age kids out grow their "lovies" but I'm pretty sure that Fred will be clutched during high school and college graduation. I'm pretty sure he will be her something old accessory at her wedding.
Ok... I admit that honestly I'm pretty sure one day he will be collecting dust on a shelf. I know that one day I will look back at this post with watering eyes and a smile!

Aww, that's so sweet! I agree with the other poster who said how cool it is that you have photos of her with it throughout the years. It's definitely going with her to college and will sleep with her and her husband one day...if you allow her to get married :)

ReplyDeleteHey there. I found your blog from another blog (isn't that always the story?!) What a cute post. They get big too fast. Sometimes, I'm looking for that pause button. :-) -Rachel
ReplyDeleteI seem to remember her as being that tiny little girl and can't wait until I'm back in the states and can see her again! My goodness she has gotten big!
