Yes, we are one of the thousands of people sweltering without power!
It is crazy hot.
We spent most of the weekend at Barnes & Noble!
Drank lots of Starbucks... bought lots of books and hung out enjoying the AC (and powering up our phones and laptop).
We had a picnic cookout....
and ate salad with fresh lettuce out of the garden!
We played some board games. It was fun the first day... but I'm so over it now! It is too hot for this! But we are lucky no real damage was done to our house (only a big dent in our grocery budget having to clear out our fridge). It is unbearably hot in the house.... easily 95 degree upstairs. Luckily the basement feels pretty cool so we put Benjamin's pack n play down there and we all slept down there where it is somewhat comfortable.
I'm honestly glad to be at work today where there is AC. Monday is water day at Benjamin's daycare too so he will have a nice morning playing in the water!
We likely wont have power until the end of the week.
Are any of you without power from the weekend storm? If so how are you getting by this week?
Oh no! Sounds like you are trying to make the best of it. Try to stay cool & hopefully your power will be restored soon!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that's horrible! I can't imagine having to cope with that and having young children to deal with! I hope you didn't lose a freezer stash of milk too.
ReplyDeleteWe got really lucky that it missed us by just a few miles. It hit some cities about 15 minutes away. Hope it get fixed very soon!
oh no i feel for you i do. i know what that is like sending goo thoughts you get power soon.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about you guys....we have a friend (from Boston) who was in his sailboat @ Annapolis during the storm, and it seriously scared him to death!
ReplyDeleteTake care, and is your power back on yet?
Barnes and Nobel would not be a bad second home LOL!
