Do you have a picture wall somewhere in your house? I've always dreamed of having my own picture wall/gallery. Shortly after moving into our house I decided what the heck, I would give it a shot. I took all of my random frames and hung them in the hall up the stairway. I used a measuring tape so that they were all going up the stairs evenly. I love how photo galleries add so much personality.
Here is our ever growing photo gallery. (Hi Chloe...)
I love the mismatched frame look. I am slowly adding more pictures here and there building my way up higher.
A picture wall might not be everyone's style, but I just love it. It adds depth and it is an inexpensive way to fill up wall space while adding character. I smile every time I go up and down the stairs looking at all of the pictures.

While we are talking about pictures, we have this picture that was given to us last week.
The frame didn't quite go with the rest of the frames in the room. Most of them are either a dark wood or painted black, like these above the TV....
I decided to paint the frame black. After painting it black it still didn't look quite right so I distressed it a littleHere's what it looks like now...
You can barely see the distressing going on in this picture, but I swear you can tell in person.
Ok, so it isn't amazing but it was free. It will do until I get around to buying a better frame and mat for it.
The weekend's almost over already, I can't believe it. I've been working on this all weekend....
look at her beautiful curves! More on this soon....
Great news --- I was spotlighted at Domestically Speaking

Good morning EriKa:) I like a picture wall...I only have a mini one. A friend of mine has a sign and picture wall behind her guestroom wall...looks great! Congrats on the spotlight, and award. See you tomorrow X0
ReplyDeleteI have a picture wall going down the stairwell to our basement playroom, very similar to yours.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a collage of family photos at the top landing of our staircase at our old home. Looked great.
ReplyDeleteI love that chest of drawers...what are you planning on doing with it?
Your picture wall looks great. I've often thought of doing one up my stairway, but am yet to try it.
ReplyDeleteI think painting the frame black was a good idea because it makes the picture pop now.
congrats on the award. love the way the dresser turned out.
ReplyDeleteI love picture walls too. I have some going up our stairs and another wall on our main floor that combines shelf ledges and pictures.
